Advancing Emergency Care of Persons Living with Dementia: A GEAR Network Immersive Workshop

Overview
This workshop will highlight Geriatric Emergency Care Applied Research 2.0 – Advancing Dementia Care Network (GEAR 2.0) consensus conference-identified research priorities in the emergency care for persons living with dementia (PLWD) and learn about the pilot studies funded by the GEAR Network. Furthermore, the workshop will promote networking and collaboration with experts and other networks advancing the care of PLWD and support the development of research grants.

Target Audience
This ISTAART immersive workshop is designed for researchers at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
Learning Objectives
1. Develop and build partnerships with multi, inter, and transdisciplinary dementia, geriatric, and emergency focused researchers and community partners.
2. Prepare research proposals that will address dementia care, emergency care, and geriatric care research priorities.
3. Understand approaches and considerations with implementation and change management in the care of PLWD and older adults in the Emergency Department setting.
Registration
Educational workshops are offered for in-person attendance only. Workshops require a separate registration fee in addition to AAIC full conference registration, or they may be purchased as stand-alone events.
